When you’re pregnant and wish to start a family, you obviously try your best to stay away from any kind of health risks to you or your baby. This especially worries women who become pregnant while on certain medications.


Yes, when you conceive, your medication could potentially have a different impact than others. It is important for you to educate yourself about every medication and how it is impacting your body and the pregnancy.

To a certain extent, most medications would have a negative impact on the body. To make this clear and have a better understand the potential risks or benefits involved, the medications are classified into a few categories which are listed below. This classification helps your physician to evaluate the medication and change the dosage wherever necessary.

D) The studies have shown considerable risks to the fetus, however, it holds beneficial elements if used for pregnant women. This means, if not used, the outcomes could be fatal for the mother.

E) Studies suggest the medication can create deformities in the fetus of both animals leading to greater risks in the pregnancies. The medication is a contradicted with the mother.

Do not begin or stop your drug without speaking to your physician. You should neither make any alterations in the dosage.

- Be it any medication or any health issue, speak to your healthcare provider before doing anything.

- Whenever you buy any medication from pharmacies, read the instructions. Apart from the expiry date, you should also look for warnings and allergic reactions to its components.

- Know the side effects, some of them could increase in women during their pregnancies.

- Do not have overdose of any medication. If you skip any dosage, consult your physician how you should be continuing the same.
